really good dynamics in this, if i had to say something bad about this piece i would say it takes a while to get into it. but i really enjoyed this piece. i wanted it to kick in with some drums badly tho!!!

thanks very much. First of all, I think I agree about the intro. Sometimes when I'd listen to it I would want it to hurry up but I talk myself out of it because I like that kind of music. I like quietness and I'm not interested in making the typical full-on 3 minute punk-rock song, there are too many people that do it better and it's not something I'm interested in. However, it's interesting that you mention it. I think I'll remake the start and see how it goes.
The point about the drums.. I can't help it when I'm making a tune to throw in some loud break-beat type drums but I wanted to avoid on this one because I like the feeling of all the empty space in the mix. I don't know now. I'll give it a go, if it sounds more satisfying I'll go with it but I'm less optimistic about that working out.
Cheers for the comment.

don't get me wrong, i REALLY enjoyed this track, it's beautiful... it doesn't need changing. but maybe some drums would sound nice??

no, don't worry. I don't take offence, I'm open to any suggestions. I'll at least give it a shot. There's a whole load of room for improvement in everything here

Cool debate guys...
I like this as is - but... I would be interested to hear how you develop it further with some drums & I think both your points are valid.
This is very serene with a mixture feel reminding me of Vangelis crossed with a lullaby the overal result being something experimental that does have a very sweet uniqueness.
It is nice to hear the beauty / simplicity here which create's a wonderfully relaxing & harmonious flavour.
In it's present form it works for me but I agree with Johny that you could develop this further to have a more stand-up & take note value - which could even lead to the difference being dramatic enough so as to re-name the next version as part 2 perhaps.
I too enjoyed this & there is food for thought here!

This track fits very well with the title and I can see it was meant to be relaxing have you ever thought of adding a few strings maybe to give it a little lift, this is just my opinion, otherwise

Thanks electronicladyland. This has a lot to do with sleep. The peaks and troughs feeling in it is connected to the typical sleep pattern from REM sleep to deep sleep and the tune is almost split in two.. The bells/beeps make one with the bass and drums as another with it's slightly different timing. That came from the weird feeling of overlapping dreams It all sounds silly but this is the kind of stuff I think about...and it's the reason there's no strings.. I tend to have beepy echoey sounds in my dreams
...although I dream with drums.
aorpete - Thanks a million. sweet comment. This will definitely be getting more work. As I say, all these tunes are unfinished ideas but this, nine-f and TheSlowestOrgan are my favourites and the ones I really do want to be able to call finished songs some day.
