I played bass in a rock band for years but quit when I started listening to lots more hiphop and more esoteric electronic stuff like Boards of Canada, múm and Sigur Rós.
I love how múm use live instrument samples with purely electronic stuff and it's something I want to do more of but my computer isn't fast enough to make it work as intuitively as I want. In the mean time, most of this stuff is all ableton except for drum kits I made from recording everyday sounds.
These songs are like sketches really. I'm still trying to find my feet with being the only member of the band as well as getting comfortable with working almost entirely on the computer now. Some of the melodies are place-holders until I find a good way to record melodica and guitars and things.
